Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova has demanded guarantees of the caretaker cabinet that money will be allocated under European funding for the extension of the Sofia metro to the residential areas Levski and Slatina.

“The construction work is set to begin by the end of the year. The projects have been coordinated with the European Commission and are included in the initial version of the national recovery and development plan,” Yordanka Fandakova says.

“It is important to remember that the people of Sofia are the biggest taxpayers into the country’s state budget, and hence -  into the EU and it would be very unfair to them,” Yordanka Fandakova says.
