Plagiarism check launched against Petar Iliev, nominated for interior minister

“St. Kliment Ohridski” University, Sofia is launching a plagiarism check against Petar Iliev, ITN’s nomination for minister of the interior, the university has announced.

The rector of the university has received three reports that Iliev, who is a lecturer at the faculty of law, plagiarized texts for his book. The reports will be verified within the space of one week though there is no deadline for the ethics commission of the “St. Kliment Ohridski” University to deliver a decision whether there is a case of plagiarism. If such is ascertained, according to the university rules, the rector will be obliged to dismiss Petar Iliev.
