Intimidation attempt is one of reasons behind resignation of former BNR Director General Andon Baltakov

Three factors have motivated the decision of former director general of the Bulgarian National Radio, Andon Baltakov to resign. In an interview with Dnevnik, he said that the first was related to his personal security and an attempt that was made to intimidate him.

After returning from a business trip to the countryside in June, he found muddy footsteps in the corridor of his apartment in Sofia. Baltakov told acting Minister of Interior Boyko Rashkov about the case over the phone and then informed Prime Minister Stefan Yanev, but no reaction followed.

The other two factors were attempts to sabotage his work, as well as the lack of enough professional support for his work from journalists in the country.
