According to information obtained by the BNR, at least 10 persons have so far been detained who say they are Syrian. Meanwhile it was announced that the border police have thwarted 279 attempts at crossing Bulgaria’s border illegally in the past 24 hours, most of them – 186 along the border with Turkey, the rest – along the border with Greece.

According to former interior minister, now member of the parliamentary internal security committee Hristo Tersiyski, at the moment the pressure has increased significantly and the groups attempting to enter Bulgaria are mostly from Afghanistan.
