Bulgargaz say there would be no gas shortage

We have secured quantities for the Bulgarian market and we will not allow a shortage. All requests of our clients are guaranteed, Nikolay Pavlov, executive director of Bulgargaz, has told bTV.

"We see an extraordinary situation in Europe. Over 40% of electricity in the EU is produced using natural gas and this high price has reached Bulgaria. In our country, just a small amount of electricity is produced by using gas," Pavlov added.

According to Pavlov, gas storage facilities in Europe are not full and the price has jumped more than 24 times for a year. "But we are fulfilling our stockpiling plan and we are even storing larger quantities of natural gas in comparison to 2020," the executive director of Bulgargaz said.
