Until now, only the Supreme Prosecutor's Office of Cassation had this opportunity. The Ministry of Interior and the National Customs Agency will be able to notify the European Public Prosecutor's Office directly. The European Public Prosecutor's Office will assess whether there are breaches affecting the EU’s financial interests. The European Prosecutor's Office then has the right to seize the proceedings and do its own investigation.
