As of today, 6 December, more than 96,000 1st to 12th grade students in Sofia have returned to in-person school attendance. According to data of the Ministry of Education they comprise almost 70% of all pupils. 56,000 of them are in lower and upper secondary school.
12 schools in Sofia have not gone back to in-person schooling in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 12th grades, and another 18 – in the 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade, because they have been unable to obtain consent from at least 50% of the parents for testing of the pupils. All schools in the country have enough tests for the current week, and as of tomorrow testing for Covid-19 will continue in all municipalities.
