Half a million premature babies are born in the EU every year. About 6,000 of them are in Bulgaria, which is over 10% of all births.
This was announced by the Minister of Health Asena Serbezova at a ceremony on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the provision of specialized care for premature babies at the Neonatology Clinic of the Maichin Dom Hospital in Sofia. Serbezova stressed the dedication of doctors, thanks to whose efforts these children are able to live full lives.
