The moment we are born, we start playing. We start acting as parents at an early age, build bridges, buildings and create imaginary communities and spaces. Thanks to the application of these approaches in serious activities, we are taking a quantum leap in our development.
The application of game methods in the management of human relations is entering economy, business, marketing and the non-governmental sector. The so-called gamification is not something new, Aleksey Potebnya, Marketing Specialist at TechnoMagicLand and Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Sofia University, contends.
“Gamification is the well-known model of Homo Ludens- Aleksey Potebnya explains. – This is the model of the inventor who is driven by curiosity and aspires to be a frontrunner. We play, compete and finally receive a prize”.
Gaming tools help us broaden our minds and think beyond our professions, transforming them in new ones without names. For instance, figures come to life with the help of the innovative approaches”. Aleksey Potebnya noted.
“We live in a world where each movement creates data – the expert went on to say. - Every trip in the subway generates hundreds of lines. It turns out that we have an awful lot of information, but we do not know how to process it. That is why new people are needed there. Today, many people are worried about the advent of artificial intelligence saying that robots would steal our jobs. In fact, robots have the extremely valuable property of not getting tired and not getting bored of performing repetitive tasks. In other words, time has come for people to start enjoying the most precious human quality- to create.”
An excessive quantity of information often leads to an outburst of fake news, Aleksey Potebnya said referring to the so-called infodemic surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. “We need professionals who are able to help people overcome the fear of technological change”, the expert said.
“These fears are unfounded, all the more so since a change in the EUGeneral Data Protection Regulation made us give some thought on what type of information were are leaving behind us and whether this act is voluntary” – Aleksey Potebnya added. – One of the best things about our era is the fact that everything we do brings experience.
Digital channels help us reach our compatriots abroad.
“Bulgarian communities abroad have the exceptional opportunity to be anywhere they want – Aleksey Potebnya said. These people are not far away from us, because they can actively participate in our life via the digital space. All this is happening, because we are striving to reach new horizons and acquire knowledge of the information system based on the digital world.”
People should never stop learning, Aleksey Potebnya went on to say and added
“The world is an infinite source of surprises and beautiful things, but we can never experience them if we fail to find and study them. In other words, the magic called life cannot happen”, Aleksey Potebnya contends.
