The European Commission has allowed the deadline for evaluation of Bulgaria's Recovery and Resilience Plan to be extended by another month, the Commission officials told BNR. It is expected that after the next revision the assessment of the plan will be given on March 15.

A few days ago, Prime Minister Kirill Petkov told the Bulgarian parliament that a new version of the plan had been sent to Brussels, adding that it had revised sectoral energy policies due to dependencies related to gas supplies and tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

At the end of 2021, the caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov announced that the Commission had 43 remarks on the document. Two of them were serious and related to energy and the rule of law.
