Some of the Bulgarian survivors of ferry fire near Corfu are now home, 7 still missing

Some of the Bulgarians who survived the ferry fire near the Greek island of Corfu have returned home. The group included people from Petrich, Sofia, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv. There were 33 trucks of a Plovdiv company on the ferry, it was also reported.

The search for 12 people still missing after the tragic incident continues. Seven of the missing passengers are Bulgarians.

There were a total of 127 Bulgarian citizens onboard the ferry. There were also children among them who are alive and well, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova said yesterday.

The Bulgarian Embassy in Athens and the Consulate General in Thessaloniki are in constant contact with the competent local institutions, providing full cooperation.
