Bulgaria’s government has strongly condemned the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. “We see that this aggression was not provoked by the Ukrainian side and such actions in Europe are inadmissible”, Premier Petkov said at a briefing. “Bulgaria will be a partner that speaks with one voice with the EU and NATO”, Kiril Petkov said further.

The Cabinet has already set up task forces to address various risks to Bulgaria’s national security - energy, cybersecurity, war reserve stocks, Premier Petkov said, assuring that at the moment there is no risk of military actions on the territory of Bulgaria. Bulgaria is opening three points to receive Bulgarians from Ukraine who request evacuation. It became clear from Premier Petkov’s statement that these people will be transported to Bulgaria by bus or plane via Poland.
