Bulgaria's Petkov and Turkey's Erdogan discuss good neighbourly relations in Antalya

During the second edition of the International Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, Bulgaria's Prime Minister Kiril Petkov spoke today with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the government's press service announced.

The good neighbourly relations between Bulgaria and Turkey and the possibilities for cooperation in the energy sector, in the field of economy, infrastructure and defence were discussed. The two leaders noted progress in easing traffic at checkpoints and discussed ways to improve road links, including between Plovdiv and Istanbul. 

The Turkish president welcomed the Bulgarian government's intention to fight corruption and reform the judiciary. They both agreed that these policies would attract more investors. 

For his part, Petkov congratulated Erdogan on his initiative to mediate and organize diplomatic talks between Ukraine and Russia.
