Europe and our partners in the coalition cabinet are coming closer to the position of the Bulgarian Socialist Party regarding the sanctions against Russia, Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Economy Kornelia Ninova said for the Bulgarian National Television. In her words, the severe sanctions are a blow to the economy and are harmful for Bulgaria, Europe and the world as a whole.
“Premier Kiril Petkov himself said that Bulgaria would not support sanctions that are unfavorable to our country”, Kornelia Ninova added.
“There is no direct threat to Bulgaria. Why NATO forces and aircraft are coming to protect us?”, Minister Ninova said in connection with the plans of the Netherlands to send to Bulgaria three F-35 fighter aircraft for joint air policing.
“The conflict can be solved via negotiations, not military actions”, Kornelia Ninova said with regard to the war in Ukraine.
