11 people detained for trafficking of migrants, among them two police officers

Eleven people, among them 2 police officers have been detained during a specialized illegal migration police operation conducted on the territory of Sofia, Pernik, Trun and Blagoevgrad.

“We are talking about a criminal group trafficking migrants to Western Europe. Many addresses have been searched and a lot of physical evidence seized,” Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Petar Todorov said for the BNR. Mobile phones, SIM cards, drugs, radio stations, illegal weapons, munition and excisable goods have been seized during the operation.
