Bulgaria reports 715 new infections, positivity rate stands at 6.4%

715 is the number of Covid-19 cases registered out of 11,232 tests performed in the country over the past 24 hours, a positivity rate of 6.4%, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show. The number of active cases in the country has dropped down to below 170,000.

The number of coronavirus patients being treated in hospital has also fallen – down to 1,264, 144 of them in intensive care. 77% of the 121 new hospital admissions are among the unvaccinated

The highest number of new infections is in Sofia - 221, in Plovdiv – 50, and in Varna – 39.

13 patients have died as a result of the infection in the past day, 85% of them were not vaccinated. 1,169 is the number of recoveries reported.

1,692 doses of vaccine have been administered on Friday. The number of people with a completed vaccination cycle in the country is now over 2 million, 52,000, more than 730,000 have taken a booster shot.
