The 18th edition of the annual festival dedicated to the plant Rhododendron ponticum (Strandzhanska zelenika) is being held this weekend in the village of Brodilovo, Tsarevo municipality. The festival takes place in the area "Harmanyata", where the blooming plant can be seen. This tall evergreen shrub with a strongly branched stem is a symbol of Strandzha Mountain. The flowers are large, purple-pink in color. It blooms in May and June for a short time and can be seen naturally growing in Strandzha Mountain and the Caucasus.

Every year the festival opens with the folk song “Yasen mesets” and includes a rich program of culinary challenges, music and mountain hikes. "We welcome many tourists from all over the country, because this is the biggest holiday in Strandzha for nature lovers and friends of the mountain," director of Strandzha Nature Park, eng. Rumyana Tsvyatkova said.
