Bulgarian MEP lhan Kyuchyuk of Renew Europe has sent a letter to Vice President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency Vera Jourová and European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, informing them about a case of hate speech in the Bulgarian parliament. The signal is about remarks by “Vazrazhdane” party leader Kostadin Kostadinov addressed to US Vice President Kamala Harris. "He mocked her name vulgarly from the parliamentary rostrum and insulted her using the word 'animal'. This is intolerable behavior," Mr. Kyuchyuk has told BNR.

Kyuchyuk will ask EU Commissioner Jourová to be specific in her response, setting out actions towards criminalizing hate speech that will receive the support of the European Parliament, BNR correspondent Angelina Piskova informed.
