There Is Such a People party (ITN) proposed that the contract with the Russian Gazprom be extended until a reliable supply source is found, and this is one of the reasons for the rupture in the relations between the government and the Ministry of Energy, Deputy Minister of Energy Plamen Danailov from the ITN quota declared in an interview with Euronews Bulgaria.

However, the idea was not approved by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev. “The idea for Bulgargaz to stop paying Gazprom came from the government, and the Energy Ministry complied,” Deputy Minister Danailov added.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev declared back in May that the contract with Gazprom, which expires at the end of the year, will not be renewed.

Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov, his deputies and the entire political cabinet will submit their resignations on Monday, Plamen Danailov said.
