The Association of Bulgarian Radio and Television Broadcasters have called on the Council for Electronic Media to check the influence reality media formats have on children. When discussing the issue, the association said that the assessment on whether certain media content was appropriate for children should be made by parents and not by the media regulator.
Council Chairwoman Sonya Momchilova said they had no intention of becoming a censor, but said that some media were imposing behavioral patterns among children that she did not approve of.
Children perceive reality formats as truth, psychiatrist Dr. Tsveteslava Galabova, who filed a signal to the council, said.
