"The BSP did not support lifting the veto on the Republic of North Macedonia and all allegations that we have betrayed the national interest are lies," said the party's Executive Bureau and its parliamentary group. The document points out that the issue of North Macedonia is a red line that the leftists have not crossed.

The leader of "There is Such a People" (ITN) party Slavi Trifonov came out with an angry social media post because of the parliament's decision to give green light to North Macedonia’s EU Membership talks. "It seems that the human rights of the Bulgarians in North Macedonia and the language of hatred against the Bulgarians do not matter much. It is important not to anger the great powers. As always," Trifonov wrote.
