National naval exercise Breeze 2022 begins near Varna and Burgas

Bulgarian Air Force react to airspace violation, intercept small aircraft

The Bulgarian Navy has launched the national naval exercise Breeze 2022, which will continue until July 25. The exercise is taking place in the territorial waters of the Black Sea, the adjacent zone and the exclusive economic zone. 11 countries are participating at the military exercise with 24 warships and cutters, 5 aircraft, 4 helicopters and 1,390 military staff.

The Bulgarian Air Force announced that at 17.42 pm on July 13, an aircraft identified as a Cessna-150 and registered as LZ-TTE was detected by the air defense system near the town of Svishtov at an altitude of 600 meters. A MIG-29 fighter jet intercepted the aircraft. The small plane was forced to land at Bohot airport.
