President Rumen Radev: Ukraine's membership in NATO should not directly involve the alliance in the war

A decision on Ukraine's accession to NATO should be made only after the development of clear parameters for the peaceful settlement of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine which are accepted and implemented by both belligerent states

This is written in the position of Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev on the occasion of the declaration adopted a few days ago by some countries in Eastern Europe regarding Ukraine's membership in NATO, the text of which, however, was not supported by Bulgaria.

The military actions on the territory of Ukraine today require that its membership in the Alliance be discussed within the full composition of the North Atlantic Council and not lead to a risk of the direct involvement of NATO countries in the war, states the position of the Bulgarian president, distributed by the presidency .
