Over the last year and a half, industrial production in Bulgaria continues its upward trend on a monthly and annual basis. For August the growth is estimated at 0.7% compared to July and 16.5% compared to last year, announced the National Statistical Institute.
Declines were recorded only in the chemical sector (down 11.6%), electronics (down 10.3%), automotive and timber (down 8.5%).
The construction sector also grew by 0.5% in August, offsetting the decline recorded in July.
Regional policies are needed to address imbalances in employment and economic activity levels in different regions of Bulgaria, taking into account the specificities of each region. This is the recommendation of the Council for Economic Analysis study..
