Volodymyr Zelensky: Russia is trying to make the Kherson region a "no man’s land"

"The power supply situation in Ukraine will be significantly improved should the country officially recognize Russia’s new regions", Former Russian President and Prime Minister and current Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that nearly 4 million people across Ukraine were affected by rolling power outages following Russian air strikes on the country's electricity infrastructure.

The Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko has announced that the Ukrainian capital's power grid is operating in emergency mode, with electricity supplies down by as much as 50% compared to pre-war levels.

In a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba has demanded that Iran immediately stop supplying Russia with weapons that are used to kill civilians and destroy critical infrastructure in Ukraine. However, Tehran has repeatedly denied sending drones to Russia.

"Russian forces in the occupied region of Kherson are engaged in mass theft of medical equipment and ambulances in a bid to make the area uninhabitable", Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said. “The occupiers have decided to close down medical institutions in towns, take away medical equipment and ambulances. They are putting pressure on doctors to move to the territory of Russia”, Zelensky said. “Russia is trying to make the Kherson region a no man’s land”, noted President Zelensky, saying that pro-Russian forces realized that they could not hold onto the city and were therefore taking what they could.
