In order to introduce the pan-European pension product in Bulgaria, a project for changes to the Social Security Code has been filed by the Council of Ministers in Bulgaria.
The draft has already been accepted at first reading by the social committee in parliament. The product will be entirely voluntary. If the project is accepted, pension funds from other EU countries will be able to enter the market in Bulgaria, collect insurance contributions and pay pensions here.
