Nearly 100 employees of the Road Infrastructure Agency blocked Hemus motorway connecting Sofia and Northern Bulgaria. Protesters blocked the motorway for 15 minutes, demanding a 30% pay rise.

They also call for a compulsory insurance against accidents and the replacement of workwear. Road engineers and experts are paid between EUR 562 and EUR 613 a month, which is quite insufficient and lead to staff turnover, protesters noted.
