Chief of Defence Emil Eftimov announced that a logistical operation had started for the delivery of military and to Ukraine. “When it is over the Ministry of Defence will decide how to address the issue publicly,” he added. The decree on sending Ukraine military aid was published in the State Gazette, which means the country can now start delivering the weaponry, as described in the confidential list of the Ministry of Defence.

By issuing the decree, President Rumen Radev is effectively rejecting the demand by the Bulgarian Socialist Party, which urged the head of state to veto the law on the ratification of the agreement between Bulgaria and Ukraine for the delivery of weapons.

According to Minister of Defence Dimitar Stoyanov, the weaponry will be transported on board 9 US military transport aircraft. Meanwhile, at a briefing, Deputy Minister of Defence Katerina Gramatikova stated no single piece of weaponry had been dispatched before the promulgation of the decree.
