Weather forecast for Bulgaria for Friday, January 20

Clouds will form over the western parts of the country on Thursday evening. It will start raining. Significant precipitation is expected in the far northwestern regions. However, the weather continues warm for the season.

A mediterranean cyclone will move across the country on Friday, January 20. There will be significant cloudiness. It will start raining from the west, with a chance of thunder in some areas. Precipitation will be more significant in Western and Southern Bulgaria. In some areas in Rila Mountain and the Rhodopes precipitation will exceed 30 mm. The wind will subside in the western part of the country. Northwesterly winds will usher in cold air. In the western portion of the Pre-Balkans and the high valleys the rain will turn to snow. 

In Eastern Bulgaria daytime highs will exceed 15°C. There will be moderate and strong southerly wind, with light showers in some areas. 

On Friday night westerly and northwesterly winds will usher in colder air in the country. It will rain and snow in Western Bulgaria. It will rain in the eastern parts of the country. The lowest temperatures will range from minus 2°C in Western Bulgaria to 6°C-8°C in Eastern Bulgaria.  Daytime highs will range from 4°C-9°C in the western parts of the county to 12°C-14°C in Eastern Bulgaria.
