The strongest interest in traveling to Bulgaria comes from neighboring markets, Rumen Draganov, director of the Institute for Analyses and Evaluations in Tourism, told BGNES.

The highest number of tourists are from Romania, up to 2 million per year. Then there are the guests from Turkey, Greece, North Macedonia and Serbia, as most of them come repeatedly, every year.

Then there are the tourists from Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Italy and Spain

From the non-EU countries, the most numerous tourists are from Great Britain and Israel. Russian tourists have decreased, but have not stopped traveling through Istanbul, Belgrade and Dubai.

Prices have risen by an average of 17%, but remain lower than those in Greece and slightly higher than prices in Turkey and Romania, adds Draganov.
