Romanian President Klaus Iohannis pays an official visit to Bulgaria

At the invitation of Head of State Rumen Radev, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis is coming to Bulgaria on Wednesday, March 15, the presidential institution in Bucharest said. 

The two presidents are expected to sign a joint declaration on strategic partnership, which includes the improvement of infrastructure between the two countries and cooperation in the defence sector, in the context of the war in Ukraine.

The heads of state will also discuss Romania and Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area and the fight against illegal migration and more effective protection of the EU's external borders.
