In the Scottish city of Aberdeen, the members of the election commission expect about 200 Bulgarians to vote. Some people can be heard asking about how long the series of elections would continue but in general the voters are not tired of the five early elections in a row for the past 2 years.
"Since the last elections, it has been noticed that there few people who come all the way here to abstain," says Stoyan Batakliev, a member of the sectional commission in the city, in an interview with Radio Bulgaria. “This is good because it is important to have a position and to be able to take a side that you can defend with your arguments. My desire is to give my vote for a party that would focus more on the future of Bulgaria and later on what is happening outside of the country."
The failure of politicians in the 48th Parliament to produce a regular cabinet, which has brought us to today's parliamentary vote, has voters in Aberdeen hoping that some lasting and stable change would occur now.
"I think people's emotions are affected quite a bit by the season. As cozy a season as winter is with all the gifts and celebrations, spring is a symbol of new beginnings, and that certainly has an effect on our emotions and on voter turnout.”
