The Romanian authorities are launching an attachment procedure for the Bulgarian ships detained in Constanta, Romania.

The fishermen detained along with the ships in Romania, and later released, have to appear there on 5 April, bTV reports.

“It is not clear how long the ships will be detained in Romania. The seamen’s biggest problem is they have no way to make a living,” Krasimir Petrov, owner of the ships said, and went on to complain that without adequate interpreters, having been detained for 48 hours in Romania, the sailors were given protocols in Romanian to sign, by force of which they state they accept the charges brought against them. According to the fishermen’s lawyer, they were apprehended 55 miles outside Romania’s 12-mile territorial waters zone, and there are no grounds for their being detained.
