Bulgaria insists that the European Commission provides supplementary protection for Bulgarian farmers in addition to the EUR 16.75 million aid financed by the agricultural reserve, Bulgaria’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Yavor Gechev told the Advisory Council on Grain.

Minister Gechev said that the sector is affected by market anomalies as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Bulgaria proposes that the European Commission ensures acceleration of grain exports to third countries. According to grain producers, the sector has reached a crucial point and its future depends on the actions to be undertaken in the coming months.
