The caretaker government is doing everything possible to renegotiate the Recovery and Resilience Plan, said caretaker Deputy Prime Minister for the EU Funds Management Atanas Pekanov during today’s blitz control at the National Assembly. He was invited to answer questions by the Bulgarian Socialist Party. One of the government’s targets is for the process of renegotiation not to lead to a loss of European funding under the plan. The aim is for all changes to be sent unofficially to the European Commission by mid-May, after which to hold negotiations with the EC by mid-June, and the request for amendments to be submitted officially by the end of June.
“Bulgaria has so far received around 25% of the funding under the Recovery and Resilience Plan. There are many countries which have received much less,” Atanas Pekanov commented, and added that as soon as is possible, after we approve the necessary legislation,we will be able to receive the second payment.
