A meteorite flies over Bulgaria on the evening of July 11

A meteorite flew over Bulgaria and exploded in the atmosphere above Romania. The meteorite was spotted above Sofia at 21.49 pm on July 11. The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology and the Ministry of Interior confirmed the information.

 The natural phenomenon was most intense over Northwestern Bulgaria. People reported a bright light in the sky which ended with a rumble. There are no reports of injured people or material damage, the director of the Vidin regional police directorate Petar Kotsin said for the BNR. According to the Romanian authorities, it was a meteorite that exploded in the air and fell on their territory.
