The bathing water in Primorsko is the cleanest in Bulgaria and second in Europe in terms of quality, according to a report by the European Environment Agency. The quality of sea water in Primorsko is close to the perfect score of 100% for ideal cleanliness— 99.4%. By this indicator, Bulgaria is surpassed only by Cyprus.

Among the Bulgarian coastal waters surveyed, the cleanest are found in the Primorsko area around Cape Maslen Nos (99.4%), the shoreline near the International Youth Center (99.1%) and at the North Beach near Perla Residence (98.9%).

The study covers 22,000 bathing waters across Europe, including 850 in Bulgaria. According to the report, the clean sea water in Primorsko is attributed to the absence of industrial facilities and shipping, as well as the influence of sea currents.
