A work accident at the Arsenal weapons plant in Kazanlak has injured two workers. One of the 46-year-old men, who was hospitalized with a severe abdominal injury, died, and the other is hearing impaired. The incident occurred this morning, when a non-working separator detonated, in the Repair and Mechanical Workshop at Plant 3 on the territory of the Arsenal factory in Kazanlak, the Main Labor Inspectorate announced.

No fire occurred and no material damage was caused as a result of the detonation.

This is the second accident at the weapons plant in several months. On August 20, a 53-year-old worker for an outside company suffered serious burns in a fire that broke out in the excavator he was using to clear debris. He later died in hospital. In early July, a metal part from a centrifuge broke off in an accident in one of the workshops, killing a 46-year-old man. In May, a worker suffered burns while working with nitroglycerin.
