Professor Vili Lilkov announced that he will run for mayor of Sofia and that he wants to unite right-leaning voters. "For three years the right-wing spectrum has been systematically divided by the leaders of the so-called right", Vili Lilkov said for the BNR.
According to Vili Lilkov, the support for Maya Manolova in the mayoral elections in 2019, the support for Rumen Radev at the 2020 Presidential elections, and the entry of a section of the right in a government with the Bulgarian Socialist Party, was a mistake.
"I urge GERB to nominate their own candidate who will defend what they have achieved and be responsible for what they have promised, but have not achieved", Vili Lilkov noted.
"In this campaign I will adhere to talking about the big problems of the capital and I won't comment on my opponents personally. The Mayor of Sofia needs to bring the city into the 21st century. That's why I'm running for mayor", Vili Lilkov explained.
