Bulgaria is already providing Ukraine with expiring ammunition under the second package of military aid for the country, approved by the National Assembly in December 2022. Deputy Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov announced this to the BNR.
Zapryanov explained that instead of the old ammunition in question, the army is supplied with new ones produced in the Vazov machine-building plants in the town of Sopot. He announced that the Ministry of Defence will assist the Ministry of Internal Affairs in providing 100 armored personnel carriers and 50 other machines that are no longer needed for the gendarmerie. Their dispatch to Ukraine was approved by the parliament on July 21 of this year.
What Ukraine will receive as aid remains to be determined.
