Relatives of victims of road accidents protested in Sofia on Sunday. They gathered in front of the National Assembly at 12 pm and marched to the Eagles’ Bridge. They were planning to block the Eagles' Bridge, but later changed their minds. Protesters also expressed their discontent in front of the Sofia Court House. Protesters threw pennies at the courthouse to express their disagreement with the corruption in the judiciary and the suspended sentences.

Protesters are demanding tougher penalties for perpetrators of road accidents. They say it is necessary to criminalize not only the second, but also the first refusal to submit to an alcohol or a drug test. Relatives of victims of road accidents are also demanding that causing death on the road be treated as a homicide rather than a reckless crime.
