The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) will insist on a real increase in incomes before 2024, union leader Plamen Dimitrov said in Varna. According to him, next year the average salary should reach the average levels for the EU.

Plamen Dimitrov added that for the 2024 budget, the trade unions will call for a rise that would not just cover inflation, but also represent real growth. The unions expect inflation of 5-5.5% and say that a rise of more than 10% in salaries is needed to ensure any movement towards the average European levels.
