Vanya Grigorova, economic advisor to Podkrepa Confederation of Labour has accepted the nomination for mayor of Sofia. Discussions of her nomination have been taking place for months. At a press conference by the LEFT! and the Bulgarian Socialist Party-Sofia, Vanya Grigorova stated that at this time “millionaires are the people who can buy laws and the favour of the people in power, while ordinary people often remain unheard”, and that this is what helped make up her mind to run in the local election. Vanya Grigorova pointed to one more reason – that for 33 years Sofia has been governed by right-wing parties, which have mostly been “repairing the repairs”, and there has never been enough money for social activities. That is why the motto of the coalition that will have to be formed is: Sofia for all, Vanya Grigorova said.
