The protesting miners and energy workers kept up the roadblocks this morning even though an agreement was signed last night between the prime minister, MPs, representatives of the government and of the trade unions from the energy industry.
The protesters from the thermal power plant and the Bobov Dol mines stated that Struma motorway would remain closed until the agreement is endorsed by parliament. The roadblock at the Pass of the Republic remains in place as the protesters say they are not pleased with what has been achieved. The protesters from Maritsa Iztok mines, who stopped traffic along Trakia motorway, are expected to announce today whether they support the agreement.
At an extraordinary sitting of parliament today, the MPs are to discuss a draft decision endorsing the agreement reached. After the vote the roadblocks are expected to be lifted.
