Vasil Terziev to be sworn in as mayor of Sofia

At today's meeting of the Sofia Municipal Council, Vasil Terziev will take the oath and start performing his mayoral duties. This became possible after the court rejected the request of Vanya Grigorova, who lost the elections, to suspend the preliminary implementation of the decision of the election commission in Sofia, by which the PP-DB and "Save Sofia" candidate was declared mayor.

"This decision is not unexpected for my legal team and I have never had any concerns," Vasil Terziev said. According to him, many of the election violations were to his detriment.

"From the first day, we will be in the municipality with a well-prepared team, which together with the Municipal Council, will work for a visible change of our city as a worthy European capital," the new mayor said.
