Basketball player Aleksandar Vezenkov wins Sportsperson of the Year 2023 Award

Basketball player Aleksandar Vezenkov has won the Sportsperson of the Year Award for 2023. This is the second consecutive award for the best Bulgarian basketball player, who now plays for the team of Sacramento Kings in NBA. Vezenkov collected 1009 points to top the 66th edition of the traditional poll conducted by the Bulgarian Association of Sports Journalists. He topped the fan vote as well.

The Bulgarian national women's chess team won the first place among the teams with 940 points. In the category for Sportsperson with Disabilities of Bulgaria for 2023, winner became athlete Hristiyan Stoyanov with 430 points. The winner of the 40th edition of the poll for "Coach of the Year" in Bulgaria, organized by Trud Daily, is Nikolay Vakareev, personal trainer of swimmer Petar Mitsin.
