Sofia is one of the best European cities for weekend trips in 2024, the press office of the capital's airport said.

The city ranks third after London and Prague, according to the Slot.Day website, which analysed data and ratings from Tripadvisor reviews for each European capital, looking specifically at the quality of nightlife in each city and the cost of accommodation.
"Bulgaria also has its capital city as a major tourist attraction," the findings read. "Sofia offers visitors a choice of 112 bars and clubs rated four stars and above, while hotels cost a reasonable €41.9 ($45.75) per person per night."
