The Ukrainian flag will continue to be flown above Sofia Municipality

At a meeting with ambassador of Ukraine to Sofia, Olesya Ilashchuk, I told her that the Ukrainian flag will be flown over the Municipality alongside the Bulgarian and European flags, while Ukrainian men and women are defending our European values and way of life, based on freedom and human dignity. This was written by the mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, on Facebook.

"Russia is an aggressor and is responsible for the unprovoked and brutal war against Ukraine," the mayor pointed out. According to him, "the regime in the Kremlin destroyed the peace and tried to revise the international order by force." Terziev points out that about 5,000 Ukrainian citizens live in Sofia. I hope that Ukraine will be peaceful and free again soon. The people of Sofia will continue to support those driven away from their homes by the war until it is possible for them to return to their homeland, the mayor said.
