The second edition of the National Folklore Competition "With the Songs of Zlatka Stavreva" brings together over 1,000 performers, the organizers said. During the weekend, on April 13 and 14, performers of various ages will compete at the NHK Cultural Center in Burgas. The youngest participants are aged between 2 and 14. There are 120 individual performers, divided into five age groups and 60 collective performers, divided into groups under 18 and over 18. The participants will be evaluated by a jury of experts and performers of Strandzha songs, including Associate Professor Danka Tsvetkova, Dr. Nikolay Gurbanov, Kostadin Mihaylov, Yanka Rupkina, Manol Mihaylov and Irina Stavreva.
The competition programпе begins on April 13. On Saturday evening there will be a solo concert by Strandzha folk singer Kostadin Mihaylov who is the main initiator of the competition. He will present the music album "Songs from Strandzha" with the folk music orchestra from the Academy of Music, Dance, and Fine Arts "Prof. Asen Diamandiev" - Plovdiv, conducted by Nikolay Gurbanov.
The concerts of the awarded talents are scheduled for the next day, April 14. Each of them will receive a certificate of participation. Three prizes will be awarded in each age group - a diploma, a non-monetary prize and a cash prize.
The best performing participant will receive a prize in the name of the Strandzha folk singer Zlatka Stavreva in the form of a plaque and a cash prize.
