Caretaker Premier Dimitar Glavchev proposed to take over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a conversation with President Rumen Radev, Glavhev told journalists.

"There will be no change of foreign minister", Dimitar Glavchev said after GERB Deputy Chairman Daniel Mitov refused to replace the current caretaker Foreign Minister, Stefan Dimitrov.

Asked whether he would organize elections abroad if he became foreign minister, Dimitar Glavchev replied that the responsibility for the elections was his anyway.

"I received this avant-garde proposal late yestеrday", President Rumen Radev told journalists. "It seems that Dimitar Glavchev still does not understand what he has got himself into as a premier, let alone a foreign minister", Rumen Radev said.

According to Bulgaria’s head of state, ''we have many wonderful diplomats who are immediately ready to take over the ministry and to do the job better than Daniel Mitov''.

On Monday, Rumen Radev will again meet with the caretaker prime minister. ''I accept all of his proposals and do not interfere in his work. I only intervened when things got out of hand. The whole electoral process would be discredited if a deputy chairman of a party were to organize elections", Radev said.
